Privacy policy

pyyu lab (“we”) builds computer vision datasets and models. This page explains what we do with personal data, both data about visitors to this site, and data inside the material clients send us.

What this website collects

This site has no sign-up, no login and no tracking cookies. We do not run advertising or share anything with ad networks.

We may use a privacy-preserving analytics tool that reports aggregate figures, page views, country, referring site, browser and device type. It sets no cookies and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for a short period. These exist to keep the site online and to defend against attacks.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to put in that message: your name, your email address, your company, and the details of what you need. We use it to answer you and to quote for the work. We keep the correspondence for as long as the business relationship is live, plus the period required for accounting records.

We do not sell contact details, and we do not add anyone to a mailing list without being asked.

Data our clients send us

Client material may contain personal data, images of people, documents, recordings. When it does, the client is the controller of that data and we act as processor on their written instructions. In practice that means:

• We sign an NDA before any material is transferred.
• We process material only for the purpose agreed in writing, and never to train our own models unless the contract says so explicitly.
• Access is limited to the people working on that project.
• We return or delete the material at the end of the engagement, on request.
• We do not transfer client material to a sub-processor without prior approval.

Where a project involves biometric or other sensitive categories of data, the client is responsible for obtaining valid consent from the individuals concerned, and we ask for written confirmation that this is in place before work begins.

Your rights

Under Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act, and under the GDPR where it applies, you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Email us and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows.

If the data in question came to us from a client, we will pass the request to that client, since they decide what happens to it.
